This Dual Voltage Digital Grow Ballast has been specially designed for Hydroponic plants. It is a 1000W HPS/MH 120/240V automatically switchable digital ballast. It automatically senses the grow bulb type, and reduces the output voltage for Metal Halide grow lights to extend the MH bulb life. Another great and energy saving feature that this digital grow ballast has is the dimmable wattage capability!
Compared to magnetic grow light ballasts, our digital ballast offer up to a 30% savings in power, and up to 7% increase in light output. They have a fast start up time, run much cooler, and are silent in operation. Electronic circuitry enables many safety features on digital ballasts:
- If there is an open circuit (bad bulb, unscrewed bulb, faulty wire...), the ballast will turn off
- If bulb turns off, the ballast will only attempt to igninte for 2 seconds once every 10 minutes until the bulb strikes, rather than supplying continuously high voltage to a bulb that is off. This greatly extends the life of bulbs
- Bulb power is steadily increased as bulb brightens, and at maximum brightness power output is continuous. This soft start and continuous power output also extends the life of your HID grow light bulbs
The ballasts are FCC tested and certified to produce NO RF interference, eliminating the need for shielded cables. They are CE certified for safety, and use UL components. The electronic digital ballasts are silicone sealed inside for longevity and protection (water resistant). They are wired with 120V plugs, but are rated for 240V. The case is aluminum with cooling fins, and is compact measuring 2.75" tall, 17" long and 4" wide. The power cable is 6’ long, and the cable to the reflector is 15’ long.
This digital ballast is ready to go- no additional parts necessary (and never any parts to service). Just plug the ballast into your reflector with a bulb, plug the ballast in a 120V outlet and it will turn on. (Ceramic mogul base not included). If you need a 240V plug, you will need to purchase your plug type from a hardware store to wire on.
Our 1000W ballasts now offer dimmable wattage. It can run at 500, 750, or 1000 Watts of power. It will only work with a 1000W bulb, but can prolong the life by dimming the power.
